More Snow??

Lately I can't stop thinking about spring clothes and makeup! I'm so sick of this winter that every outfit I try on looks bad. I just can't wait for a time when I don't have to wear a coat and can show off my pedicure in cute sandals (see previous post!)

I have been dreaming of bright fuschia and coral lip colors, and some of the best ones out there are being released by Bobbi Brown.

these are the new Bobbi Brown Rich Lipcolor shades I've been lusting over!

Rich Guava is a light coral-y reddish pink that I think would look good on almost any skin tone
Sweet Nectar
A less red version of Rich Guava with a more pastel quality
I know what you're thinking, don't these look alike? I can't help what I like!
And then there's Soft Coral, the most unique out of the bunch. Essie's Tart Deco nailpolish in lipstick form (drool)

For the more daring girl, there is the bright fuschias that I would reserve for nightime or special occasions
this is Mac's Impassioned lipstick, a cult favorite a a true fuschia color. This is number one of my Mac wishlist right now.

On the same level as Impassioned is Estee Lauder's Wild Fire
The most orange out of the bunch, only for the brave of heart

Once I get my hands on one of these, I'll be sure to let ya'll know!

i want shoes

these are some opening ceremony booties that i've been wanting for so long. i think they're extremely overpriced, as everything is at opening ceremony! i think they're the perfect spring boot, and since they're white they will almost go with anything. this is more of a lust item for me.

these are really cute repetto flats. i have never been a fan of flats but i think that the fabric and the color make these really attractive. i also really like the idea of a pop of color on the foot!

then there are these AMAZING cacharel "flatforms". these are my ideal heel for the spring/summer. if they werent 700 dollars i would probably get them :(

just some shoe porn lol

Fountain/Bottle of Youth????

I'm compelled to blog again!

So many products, so little time..After going on my project 10 pan, I am not allowing myself to buy makeup until I finish said products. I can, however, shop in my mothers medicine cabinet. After feeling the itch to buy something, I go into my moms bathroom and search for things unused or used that I can "steal" and use for myself. I picked up some Bare Minerals blush in Glee and a Bobbi Brown cream eyeshadow in a nice neutral goldish color. Unsatisfied with just those products, I went back for more last night. I spotted something that I've heard so much about, but never thought twice of since I didn't know how/where/why I should use it.

"Visibly younger skin in just 7 days. Skin looks as if lit from within – breathtaking radiant. Its youthful quality returns: cushiony soft and velvety to the touch. Drop by drop, skin is vibrant with youth, its tone becomes astonishingly even, its texture dramatically refined."

Yes, I'm talking about Lancome Genefique!

Running from $58-99, this youth serum claims to do quite a lot for tired, dull and uneven skin. I'm always ready to use something that will promise to give me breathtakingly radiant skin.

I used this for the first time last night, and within minutes my forehead and cheeks felt so soft and smooth, like I had just exfoliated every dead cell off my face. I've read many reviews on this product and most of them can attest to smooth and supple skin after using it for just a short period of time, the long term results are what I'm after though. I will continue to incorporate this into my nightime skincare routine and let you know the results firsthand!

Can't Sleep.Must Blog

Sorry about the ramble lately but since I can't talk about what I bought or what new product I'm dying over, I want to talk about what I CAN'T buy..

I'm having a hard time with this project ten pan, mostly because I work at a makeup/beauty supply store. Like an alcoholic working at a bar, or liquor store, it is very hard to hold back. I consider it even more of a test, but I do cheat and put on makeup throughout the day that I want to buy!!

This Thursday is a huge day for me as I am working at a gallery opening. Although I am just a slave (intern), I still want to look fab like I'm sophisticated and smart, yet  fun and youthful. I'm thinking either strong eyes or strong lips, either way I will have to do my makeup at work before the opening so it will have to be easy.

I've managed to lose two of my favorite lipsticks and that makes me cry, I will not stop the hunt though. Anyway, until next time kisses!

NO MORE SHOPPING

I'm jumping on the bandwagon and joining project 10 pan.. If you don't know what this is, it's kind of  "movement" that encourages you to use up items in your makeup collection that are semi-close to being done, before you buy ANY other makeup/makeup related items.

There are some great videos on youtube that talk about what people are doing, as well as their progress along the way. I first heard about this a while ago, but never considered it because I LOVE TO SHOP. Now that I feel comfortable in the amount of makeup I own, I will venture into this project. I'm trying to be more conscious about the way I spend my money and hopefully I can finish this.

The only problem is that I have no items that are showing actual evidence of being "almost finished", I'm trying to set limits and maybe only say "if i hit pan on something I can buy something else", which might be the case considering I bought most of the things I wear from September on. I really want to try and finish this because I want to save money for more important things!

Here are the items:

1. Kiehl's Eye Alert cream
2. Bobbi Brown under eye corrector in peach
3. Nars blush in orgasm
4. Maybelline gel liner
5. Cetaphil cleanser
6. Aveda Volumizing Tonic
7. Mac lipstick in hue
8. Mac lustreglass in love nectar
9. MUFE hd foundation
10. Nars laguna bronzer

Beauty Starts with a Good Foundation

I just recorded a new video comparing two foundations, the pros, the cons etc..

I find that I write better than I talk, so I will go into a little more depth here.

I purchased Makeup Forever's HD Foundation a couple months back, when I was still a little tan to pull off the color. I gave in to the hype around this product, from watching videos to looking at pictures online. When a product claims to be "hd", they certainly have a reputation to uphold. I have to say that this foundation does hold up to the claim. It's not that thick of a formulation, but very creamy and opaque.
I have tried various application processes, but I find that with this foundation, it is best applied with my hands. It goes on sheerer when using my Mac 187 brush, and when I use a typical flat foundation brush it's pretty good. I do think that to achieve the most natural look, using your fingers works best.

My dilemma with purchasing a new foundation was that the color was looking a little orange/dark on my skin. It was the middle of January and I wasn't going back to the tanning bed because I'm trying to get my skin better, and that sure doesn't help. I really do like trying out new foundations and finding which ones work the best.

I purchased Chanel's Vitalumiere foundation at Nieman Marcus a little while ago, also following the trend of Chanel foundations being the ultimate luxury. If I can't have the clothes, I might as well own the foundation!

I thought this was a more "healthy" approach to make, hence the name "vita."  When first applied, I noticed a more runny texture than the Makeup Forever HD. It blended in well, and left a dewy finish on my skin. This is what I wanted, a dewy more natural finish. I also noticed that throughout the day my face appeared more shiny than dewy. I have dry/combination skin and never has my skin appeared shiny. This is easily fixed with a powder, so I made sure to purchase a Mac mineralize skin finish natural, which also gave me a little more coverage. I love this foundation, but I feel as though Makeup Forever wins.
